Did the North Sails at 6:40 survived? Any hole or tearing? I see something like a broken batten, but cannot verify clearly...that's a really good test bench for the toughness of the north's fabric

I love this raw footage, you can realize how hard it is to get out, come back, ma,age the current and all.

Kitesurfing in there, with the big waves, strong current, seems very dangerous because of the lines that can catch you if the kite is down.

Exactly 40 years ago i came to live on Maui to ride hookipa every day, 1984 was awesome got there in time to see the aloha classic, riders have gotten much better, no asymentrical boards? Thanks for sharing this. Larry
